Embrace spontaneity: Whilst having a shot list is great, also remember that some of the most memorable photos happen when least expected. Be flexible and allow your photographer to capture candid moments that reflect the joy and emotion of the day.

Scout locations: If you have specific locations in mind for your pictures on the day, take the time to scout them beforehand. Arrange a site visit with your team to identify the best spots for different types of shots and consider factors like lighting and accessibility.

Timing is key: Plan your photography schedule carefully to make the most of natural light. Schedule outdoor shots during the golden hour, which occurs during the hour before sunset or after sunrise when the light is soft and flattering. Also ensure you factor in enough time for pictures so they don’t end up being rushed. 

Communicate with your guests: Inform your guests about the importance of photography at your wedding and kindly ask them to refrain from taking photos during key moments. This will help minimise distractions and ensure that your professional photographer can capture the best possible shots.

Delegate responsibilities: Designate a trusted friend or family member to assist the media team and planning team  on the day of the wedding. This person can help gather groups for family portraits, identify key individuals, coordinate timing, and handle any unexpected issues that may arise.
